Guest recipe: Fresh Squeezed Greyhound
Bar mavens Kate & Alex Wood of Aalto Lounge, Bang Bang, and now Wonderly serve up cocktails in Portland, Oregon at these fine establishments that are not to be missed. Using fresh ingredients, they create original cocktails and put a twist on the classics like the Fresh Squeezed Greyhound served with Desert Provisions Hatch Chile Salt. If you are visiting Portland, be sure to check out the newest addition to their growing empire, Wonderly, which opened to much fan fare in February 2019.

Serves 1
2 oz Portland Potato Vodka
1/2 of grapefruit, fresh squeezed (about 1 1/2 oz)
Desert Provisions Hatch Green Chile Salt (mild or hot) for rim
Peel of grapefruit for garnish
Combine vodka and grapefruit juice in cocktail shaker. Shake to mix. Rim glass with grapefruit and roll in Hatch Green Chile Salt to coat rim of glass. Add ice to glass and gently pour cocktail mixture into glass. Garnish with peel of grapefruit, twisted.
Bar notes: Another variation is to substitute tequila (silver works best) for the vodka.
