Red Chile Prickly Paloma
This cocktail packs a festive punch and is as tasty and it is colorful. Whether you choose to add alcohol (we love a good tequila or mezcal) or keep it clean, you’ll want to savor every last drop of this paloma
Makes 2 cocktails
4 oz tequila (or mezcal)
4 oz Parch Prickly Paloma canned cocktail\1 lime, squeezed
1/2 large grapefruit, squeezed + wedge for garnish
Large splash of sparkling water (plain, grapefruit or lime flavor)
Desert Provisions Hatch Red Chile Salt or Desert Provisions Sonoran Sea Salt, for rim
Garnish with dried chile pepper and citrus slice
Grind Hatch Red Chile Salt (or Sonoran Sea Salt) in molcajete until super fine (if you don't have a molcajete, just use as is). Combine tequila/mezcal, Prickly Paloma, lime, and grapefruit juice into cocktail shaker. Shake to combine. Rim glasses with lime, roll in salt to coat the rim. Fill glasses with ice. Pour drink mixture into glasses, leaving enough room for a splash (about 1 ounce in each glass) of sparkling water.
Cook's notes: Easily make this a non-alcoholic drink by omitting the spirit and adding more sparkling water before serving.
